Third Friday -Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra classes are offered on the First and Third Friday of every month.

1st Fridays are guided by Kelly Bauer and 3rd Fridays are guided by Julie Heacock.

Embark on a transformative journey into the profound realm of Yoga Nidra, often described as the deep sleep of the yogis. This guided practice is a doorway to the space between wake and sleep, where the subconscious and unconscious converge in a state of deep relaxation. As the mind stills, this becomes a space to rewrite, recondition, and revise unhelpful behaviors, habits, and limiting beliefs.

We begin class by setting the stage for a sankalpa—an intention created by the heart and mind. Then we'll use yoga props to set up in relaxed position, as we embark on a systematic and soothing exploration of sensations, breath awareness, and visualizations.

Studies show that Yoga Nidra has therapeutic benefits such as reduced stress, anxiety, and depression, making it a valuable tool everyone! This practice can also be supportive for addressing trauma, PTSD, addiction, and insomnia.

Join us on this path of deep relaxation and rejuvenation, where the potential for self-discovery and healing unfolds.

First and foremost, I’m a student of life. Staying curious is the foundation of my teachings. I love to study and deepen my knowledge of yoga and other traditions, which enables me to share and connect with students in a variety of ways.

I’m a Trauma Informed Certified Yoga Therapist, Certified Ayurveda Health Counselor, Yoga Teacher, and Yoga Teacher Educator. My expertise is in working with the subtle body and helping students connect with their inner landscape. Practices like Yin, Restorative, Kundalini, Yoga Nidra, Mudra, Pranayama, Functional Movement, Tibetan bowl sound bath, harmonium and mantra, meditation, yoga journaling, Ayurveda, and Astrology, are some of the offerings experienced in my classes.

My life off the mat includes but not limited to, a mom of 2 busy teenagers, 2 goofy dogs, 2 purry cats, and a career in education in the Salem Keizer school district. I enjoy, all outdoors activities: hiking, camping, biking, snowboarding, swimming, star gazing, moon bathing, beach combing, traveling, reading, creating art, listening to music, eating new food, and meeting people.
